Prodigy Defends Rick Ross' Image, "I Know A Lot Of Cops & Correction Officers"

According to P, he spoke to 50 about reaching out to artists outside of his circle to strengthen the Mobb Deep brand.

"When I came home [from jail], 50 had come to see me, he had flew in from Cali to come and see me," P explained in an interview. "Before I did anything, I went straight from prison to the G-Unit office and then I came to the studio after that. When I stopped at the office, I had a talk with 50 and was telling him, 'Yo, right now, we're in a position where we gotta start doing songs with people. Mobb Deep. We gotta start doing songs with a lot of people. Different people.' Basically he was like, 'Yeah, you're right.' ... Killer Mike Reveals T.I.'s Heartfelt Apology, "It Almost Brought A Tear To My Eye"

According to Mike, he reached out via e-mail and was caught off-guard by Tip's response.

Controversial ATCQ Doc Heads To Hollywood, "I'll Be All Over The Place"

The film will premiere on July 8th in New York City and run through early August.

"I'll be all over the place wherever they want to send me," says Rapaport, a first-time director with more than 20 years of acting credits, among them True Romance, Mighty Aphrodite, and the TV series "Prison Break". The film, a Sony Pictures Classics release, will play another 32 cities as it is released to a handful of theaters at a time. As of now, the comedy shows are slated to air once a month.

The show will be taped in front of a live audience in the Times Square Arts Center in New York City, and will be streamed live online. Prodigy Responds To Capone's Jabs, "He Has To Take That Up W/ Himself"

According to P, he did not aim to hurt Capone's image but tell a story about Havoc's brother being testified against.

"He's probably upset because the truth of the matter came out now as far as what happened with Havoc's brother and the whole case thing," P told radio host Funkmaster Flex referring to Capone. Prodigy claims Capone previously took the stand to testify against Havoc's brother.

Flavor Flav's Ex-Fried Chicken Partner Clucks, "He Wants To Become A Millionaire Off My Dime"

According to restaurant manager Nick Cimino, Flav only wanted to profit off his ideas.

"I started this," Cimino said. "I put together everything from the menu to the color of the building to the sign. I did everything. What Flav's doing, he's a fraud. Earlier this month, disgruntled employees said they were not paid properly.

Workers at Flavor Flav's Chicken in Clinton, Iowa, are claiming that the rap star's paychecks are bouncing. Both Kelly Butler and Kim Kostka told Iowa's WQAD television that the restaurant'sowner, Nick Cimino, owes them three weeks of pay after banks refused to accept their pay checks. "My check was only $150 and they couldn't even cash it," Butler told the station. Butler also said she was turned down at several banks before finally taking her case to Freedom bank, which holds the restaurant's account. But even they wouldn't accept the legendary hype man's check. Instead, they gave her a letter saying the funds weren't available, she told the station. (New York Daily News)

Despite the allegations, Flav later denied his employees' accusations.

Flavor Flav and the local operator of Flavor Flav's Chicken in Clinton deny that some of the restaurant's paychecks are bouncing. Flav, whose real name is William Drayton Jr., and Nick Cimino acknowledge some startup problems but deny that workers hadn't been paid properly. In response to the allegations, Flav said, "We do have money in our accounts." Cimino says he fired 15-20 workers recently for a variety of reasons and says the complaints are merely disgruntled former employees trying to get revenge. (Chicago Tribune)

Crooked I Says Lethal Threats Could Kill In-House Leaks, "Dudes W/ Pistols, Watching All Of That"

Despite recording a large portion of music in-house since Slaughterhouse recently inked with Shady Records, Crooked said you are never fully protected from leaks.

"I don't feel more secure because there's been some leaks anyway," Crooked told SOHH when asked about recording music in-house as opposed to sending tracks via e-mail. "There's some people where that's just what they do and don't realize they're hurting the artist by not realizing this song right here could be very dear to an artist and he can't wait to put it on an album and give it to the people. But then when they leak it, the artist can no longer use it. Now the artist has a choice. He can use it or not. A lot of times you don't use songs that people hacked into your computer and leaked unfinished versions of. Sometimes you do. But with that sh*t right there, I never feel secure. We are doing a lot of different [safety precautions] to try to protect the music from it all just leaking because we put our hearts and souls into this sh*t. So we're trying to bring the best quality of music to the people." (SOHH)

Crooked also suggested more physical force could be used to lessen in-house leaks.

"I remember when I produced a couple songs on Tupac's [2001] album, Until the End of Time and I remember we had an armed guard at the door," Crooked added. "So wasn't nobody getting in and out with none of that music. Now you got engineers and sh*t that are being sneaky, recording on the down low trying to get it on another flash drive or burn little CDs and sh*t to get out of there with the music. Game's Bloods Get Him Busted In Canada, "He's Affiliated W/ Organized Crime"

According to reports, Game's criminal activities restricted him from entering Canada.

A rep for Substance Entertainment Group -- the promotion company behind Game's tour in Canada -- tells TMZ, the tour promoter got a call from Canadian Customs while Game was on the plane on his way to Canada. We're told customs informed the promoter that Game would be denied entry "due to new information received that Game is affiliated with organized crime and is an active member of the Bloods street gang." The rep claims Game was blindsided by the last-minute red flag -- telling us, concert organizers had secured all permits and approval weeks ago to get Game into the country. (TMZ)

UPDATE: Gucci Mane Still Can't Bail His Way Outta Jail

The rapper's attorney has come forward to provide an update on his client's status.

Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane has entered a not guilty plea in a Georgia court and has been transferred to another jail to face charges of violating his probation. Gucci, aka Radric Davis, had been in jail in Dekalb County for 12 days until being bailed out Wednesday; and as RumorFix first reported he was then transferred to Fulton County to face previous charges. Gucci's attorney Ashutosh Joshi tells RumorFix exclusively, "We were aware that he would not be released, we just wanted to get him to Fulton County to move forward on his probation violation." Yesterday, reports claimed his family posted bail for Gucci.

RumorFix has learned exclusively that rapper Gucci Mane has been bailed out of Dekalb County Jail almost two weeks after he was arrested for allegedly throwing a woman out of a car. Sources tell RumorFix that although the bail was only $5,700 friends and family were sick of Gucci's troubles so no one wanted to come to his rescue. (RumorFix)

Gucci's lawyer also said his client planned to plead not guilty.

Rapper Gucci Mane's lawyer is denying accusations that the musician pushed a woman out of his Hummer as he drove down a suburban Atlanta street in January. Attorney Ashutosh Joshi said Tuesday the artist intends to plead not guilty. DeKalb County prosecutors on Tuesday announced formal charges of battery, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct against the rapper, also known as Radric Delantic Davis, 31. DeKalb Solicitor-General Sherry Boston said the rapper's conduct "shows a wilful disregard for a woman's personal safety." Joshi said he and his client look forward to having the opportunity to fight the charges in court. (Canadian Press)

Last week reports claimed Gucci was still behind bars despite having a relatively low bail set.

Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane remains in the DeKalb County jail almost a week after a woman accused him of shoving her from a moving vehicle, DeKalb police confirmed. Authorities could not confirm the amount of the rapper's bail. The musician, born Radric Davis, was jailed on misdemeanor battery charges, according to a press release from DeKalb County Sheriff Thomas Brown. DeKalb Fugitive Squad members arrested him while he was visiting his probation officer, and took him to the DeKalb County Jail. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

Lloyd Banks Says G-Unit Changed The Game, "We Took It, Flipped It & Went From Being Blackballed"

The "Punch Line King" believes the Unit's early 2000's mixtape success set a precedent for other artists.

"We changed the mixtape game. We had a movement in 2001 and 2002 that turned the mixtape into a demo. And I think we were the first people to take a mixtape serious enough to format it in song structure and be able to play our rendition behind whatever was playing. We just found the humor in older records and the aggressive content in the records that were less aggressive. So we just kind of took it and flipped it our own way, and went from being black-balled. Earlier this year, Dipset's Freekey Zekey said his team helped popularize the mixtape game.

"We started the mixtape regime," Zekey promised in an interview. "We started all of that. Everybody's got their mixtape things through the Diplomats because we actually was giving y'all free albums. A lot of times when you do a mixtape, it's called a mixtape because you're mixing the lyrics you have on a song that's already played. It's a mixture of new raps and old beats. For us, we was giving you new beats, new raps and we was killing the streets and that's how we got on and popped off so hard and 50 [Cent] followed suit and then it was a domino effect from there." Last year, fellow New York rapper Fabolous spoke on whether or not mixtape releases had run their course.

"The Drake [So Far Gone] mixtape of course was a huge success," Fab explained in an interview. "Lil Wayne's tape generated a lot of interest. I saw Wayne and just listening to his tape gave me kinda the feeling that people still accepted the mixtapes and wanted to hear it. I guess it's particular artists that they attach to but I had felt even with the most high-class artists, people were getting so used to getting free music that the mixtape game wasn't that influential anymore. I gotta say, even I didn't see this one coming. With all the rappers Ricky has been signing, it begs wondering whether a vocalist would be in the works and now, songstress Teedra Moses has joined the fold over at Maybach Music Group. Ms. Moses hinted at the deal in a recent interview with Vibe and how now officially changed her Twitter bio to "Maybach Group Soulstar". So now weed rappers are people who are faking to be high all the time so that they could get on and be popular and rap. They're not high, they don't even know good weed. They're probably just smoking regular, killin' themselves but it's just like, 'All I do is rap about being high, so I can catch the wave like Spitta and 'em.' It's bullsh--. Kid Cudi Still Puff, Puff Passes On The Sticky Icky

At a recent show, Cudder detailed his motivation for cutting off his herbal fix.

Dr. Dre Wins Monster Payout, "For Years, Death Row Forgot About Dre"

Details of the ruling became public knowledge Wednesday (April 20).

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder ruling states that the rapper and producer has received far less money than he is due from online sales of the iconic 1992 album, which also helped launch the career of Snoop Dogg. The ruling does not call for a halt of digital sales of Dre's music, but entitles him to receive 100 percent of the proceeds of online sales. (Associated Press)

Following yesterday's ruling, Dre's attorney spoke on his client's win.

"For years, Death Row Records forgot about Dre when they continued to distribute his music digitally and combined his hits with weaker Death Row tracks in an attempt to elevate the stature of their other artists," Howard King said in a statement. "We are gratified that the federal court has unambiguously declared that Death Row has no right to engage in such tactics, and must hold all proceeds from these illicit distributions in trust for our client." Last year, a California judge tossed out Dre's previous claim of Death Row violating his trademark with a Chronic re-release .

On Monday, a California district court tossed his claims that Death Row's release of "The Chronic Re-Lit" violated his rights of trademark and publicity. However, the judge allowed another claim -- that he hasn't been paid royalties since splitting from Death Row in 1996 -- to be heard. In analyzing the case, California District Court Judge Christina Snyder applied the so-called "Monty Python" rule, after a 1976 case where a defendant extensively edited the TV comedy series in order to broadcast it on television. The question was whether the changes to Dr. Dre's album were more than "cosmetic." Snyder ruled the alterations were "minor and inconsequential." She also pointed out that the image used on the cover jacket is the same photograph from the original album, instead of a more current photo, which may have gone further to imply some new endorsement. Gucci Mane Brrrr-eaks Free, Released From Jail

According to reports, Gucci's family did not rush to post his bail following his arrest.

RumorFix has learned exclusively that rapper Gucci Mane has been bailed out of Dekalb County Jail almost two weeks after he was arrested for allegedly throwing a woman out of a car. Sources tell RumorFix that although the bail was only $5,700 friends and family were sick of Gucci's troubles so no one wanted to come to his rescue. (RumorFix)

An attorney for the rapper said his client plans to plead not guilty.

Rapper Gucci Mane's lawyer is denying accusations that the musician pushed a woman out of his Hummer as he drove down a suburban Atlanta street in January. Attorney Ashutosh Joshi said Tuesday the artist intends to plead not guilty. DeKalb County prosecutors on Tuesday announced formal charges of battery, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct against the rapper, also known as Radric Delantic Davis, 31. DeKalb Solicitor-General Sherry Boston said the rapper's conduct "shows a wilful disregard for a woman's personal safety." Joshi said he and his client look forward to having the opportunity to fight the charges in court. (Canadian Press)

Last week reports claimed Gucci was still behind bars despite having a relatively low bail set.

Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane remains in the DeKalb County jail almost a week after a woman accused him of shoving her from a moving vehicle, DeKalb police confirmed. Authorities could not confirm the amount of the rapper's bail. The musician, born Radric Davis, was jailed on misdemeanor battery charges, according to a press release from DeKalb County Sheriff Thomas Brown. DeKalb Fugitive Squad members arrested him while he was visiting his probation officer, and took him to the DeKalb County Jail. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

An unofficial tracklist for one of the most, if not the most, anticipated hip-hop albums of 2011 landed on the internet this week. Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV is scheduled for a May 16 release date, and on Thursday, Complex.com released what is a rumored album tracklisting for the Cash Money/Young Money superstar's upcoming project. The tracklist reveals Jay-Z, Eminem, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Birdman, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, Kanye West, Game and more as speculated contributors. (Hip Hop Wired)

Following the leak, the solo effort was pushed back to mid-June.

Sigh. Surprise, surprise. Lil Wayne has pushed back the release of Tha Carter IV from May 16 to an unspecified date in June. No reason has been given as to why it's been delayed (AGAIN), but it apparently has nothing to do with the rumored track list that leaked earlier this week. Drake Reveals Truth Behind New, Rugged Look

While not revealing what the film's title is, Drake said he would be hitting the big screen.

Nicki Minaj then asked Drake about the beard-and-curly-hair look he's been rocking lately, and he revealed that it was for a film role. In January, it was reported that the former "Degrassi: The Next Generation" star was joining the cast of "Arbitrage," which is set to star Susan Sarandon and Al Pacino. However, Drake relayed that he has "decided to work on my album instead of doing that particular film." (MTV)

Drizzy's manager, Cortez Bryant, recently discussed the rapper's emphasis on not taking typical acting roles.

50 Cent Gets Cashed Out, Victimized In Credit Card Scam

Arrests have already been made on two suspects from Connecticut.

Rapper 50 Cent has been targeted by credit card fraudsters who have allegedly attempted to make unauthorized purchases using his account. Two men were arrested in West Hartford, Connecticut over allegations they tried to buy two $1,000 flatscreen TVs from a local electronics store last year using the hip-hop star's American Express number. The pair were detained by cops after the store owner became suspicious and called the credit card company. (Contact Music)

Additional credit card fraud cases involving 50 have also been reported.

Our source says thieves have tried to use Amex numbers belonging to Jackson to make unauthorized purchases in at least five cities since 2007, including Farmington and Hartford in Connecticut, as well as in New York. Kanye West Fires Amber Rose Subliminal, "I Did Anything For That Blonde Dyke"

While performing his set, Yeezy stirred speculation after changing a few choice lyrics from his "Stronger" record.

After an energetic hour long set at the Californian music festival, West and rapper Wiz Khalifa nearly came to blows in an ugly confrontation over Khalifa's current girlfriend, the model Amber Rose. West, who used to date Rose, took a dig at his ex during a performance of his hit song 'Stronger.' The original lyrics of the song includes a line which says: "I'd do anything for a blonde dyke. And she'll do anything if the time's right". Yet, with Rose standing on the side of the stage, West altered the word to: 'I did anything for that blonde dyke. Additional reporting claims a possible verbal altercation may have followed the performance.

Afterwards, sources claim, Wiz confronted West about the lyrics, explaining, "Wiz didn't want to fight, he just wanted all this catty bulls**t to end." The Infamous Prodigy wastes no time after his release and continues to work hard in 2011 by releasing a new EP for supporters titled "The Ellsworth Bumpy Johnson Story EP" today.
