Tyler The Creator Gobbles The Haters, "If You Call Me A N*gga, I Really Don't Care"

Odd Future's Tyler the Creator has shared his input on the sensitivity of his records and how he feels about using gay slurs in music.

Acknowledging a gay fan base, Tyler said his words are not targeted at any one group.

"Well, I have gay fans and they don't really take it offensive, so I don't know. If it offends you, it offends you," Tyler told MTV News of his gay slurs. "If you call me a n---a, I really don't care, but that's just me, personally. Some people might take it the other way; I personally don't give a sh--." (MTV)

In April, Tyler assured hip-hop heads he is not anti-gay despite what some of his music may suggest.

"I'm not homophobic. I just think f*ggot hits and hurts people. It hits. And gay just means you're stupid. I don't know, we don't think about it, we're just kids. We don't think about that sh*t. But I don't hate gay people. I don't want anyone to think I'm homophobic. ([His friend] Jasper walks into the room) But he's a f*cking f*ggot!" (NME Magazine)

Earlier this week, Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man admitted Tyler may be odd but definitely stays on his radar.

"If I was Odd Future, I wouldn't want to be compared to anybody. I love that group by the way, I love Odd Future. I like Tyler the Creator, that song 'Yonkers,' -- they're good, they're different. It's a breath of fresh air. Tyler the Creator. Very weird. But I'm into weird sh*t." (Soul Culture)

A few months ago, Tyler expressed his determination to break into the mainstream.

"I'm hungry for greatness," Tyler said in an interview. "I want to be great, I want to be an icon. I want when I die, I want people to cry -- I'm hungry for VMA's and Grammy's, that's what I'm hungry for. You know? F*ck this underground bullsh*t...Greatness is a different definition to different people...Greatness if the f*cking song that I wrote last week, somebody might not find that great but it's great to me. And that's all that matters, what the f*ck I think in my head -- Greatness to me is finally getting my video played on MTV. It's on there now and I'm f*cking, I'm happy. I finally got my sh*t on f*cking MTV and some people may think that's selling out or whatever but I don't really give a f*ck. That's f*cking great to me. I'm proud of myself.
