"Lil Kim's Not Actually Signed To G-Unit"

After Lil Kim had people chanting GG-GG-G-Unit on-stage last month, 50 Cent has cleared the air and said she is not signed to his record label.

Acknowledging the speculation, 50 said he never spoke to Kim about teaming up with the Unit.
"She's not actually signed to G-Unit," 50 explained in an interview. "We didn't even have discussions about that. I heard it, I heard people say it too. It was just like, there was no reason to give confirmation for something that didn't actually happen at all. Like, when people say Shawty Lo is signed to G-Unit, they think that he's actually signed an artist deal directly to G-Unit when the project that we're doing is a lot bigger. It's a joint venture." Last month, Kim came out during newly signed G-Unit Records affiliate Shawty Lo's Atlanta show and proclaimed her new association.
"I brought the queen, Lil' Kim," said Shawty Lo while introducing the notorious raptress as his surprise guest at Hot 107.9's Birthday Bash 16 in Atlanta on Saturday (June 18). But the bigger surprise was what the Queen Bee said when she took the stage at Philips Arena after performing "It's All About the Benjamins." "If ya'll don't know, this my boy right here. G-Unit South, that's where it's at," proclaimed Kim, revealing that the "Dey Know" rapper is now part of the G-Unit roster and she may be following suit. "And I'm family too, down with the G-Unit camp. We got surprises for ya'll." (Rap-Up)
Following the announcement, SOHH hit up former G-Unit Records artist Havoc to find out what advice he could give Kim.
"You know what, I didn't really catch wind of Lil Kim joining G-Unit but now that I'm hearing that for the first time through you, if there's any advice I can give, it's nothing less than for her to keep making that good music that she's always been making," Hav told SOHH. "That's it. And I don't even think she really needs that advice because she's the queen. [Mobb Deep] would love to get with her in the future and do another banging a** record like we did in the past. But like I said, I look at Lil Kim like a sister, you know what I mean? She embraced us, we embraced her. I appreciate her as an artist, for sure." (SOHH)
In December, Kim discussed her admiration toward 50.
"That's my baby man. Like, 50, I've always been a fan of his, but I'm a big fan all over again. He is 'bout to... he is getting ready... it's gonna be crazy, that's all I got to say. I'm loving his new stuff. The stuff we working on together is gonna be crazy... This time around it's not gonna be just one song. It's gonna be a whole movie behind it, so I'm excited about this project." (Hot 97)
