Lil Wayne Refuses To Get Tipsy, Bans Alcohol From I Am Still Music Tour

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne is taking his three-year alcohol probation serious as new reports claim he has banned liquor from the I Am Still Music tour.

Although alcohol will be served at the concerts, Weezy has made sure the backstage and tour bus areas are clean.
A rep for the I Am Still Music Tour tells TMZ, the concerts have "a dry backstage as we are committed to keeping a safe and professional atmosphere to ensure a smoothly running tour." But that doesn't mean the audience can't drink -- according to the rep, the no-alcohol policy only extendsbackstage ... "there is no ban on alcohol served at the venues." Weezy is forbidden from drinking alcohol as part of his three-year probation, which kicked off last year -- following a drug-filled tour bus incident back in 2008. And the rapper is serious about his sobriety ... sources tell us, Wayne's personal tour bus is also 100% dry. (TMZ)
In early November, details of Weezy's strict probation were unveiled.
Lil Wayne is not allowed to consume one single drop of alcohol, prohibited from knowingly associating with any person engaged in criminal activity or any person with a criminal record, and cannot possess illegal drugs, toxic vapors or controlled substances for the next 36 months. If Weezy violates any of these terms, then he could be sent back to prison to serve out the remainder of his term. Tune will also be required to submit to random drug and alcohol testing. Last summer, Wayne received three years probation for his Arizona drug possession case.
Lil Wayne, already serving one year in a New York jail for a gun-related crime, was sentenced on Wednesday to three years probation in Arizona on a drug possession charge. Under the deal, the 30-year-old Grammy winner pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug. Three other drug and weapons charges were dismissed. Wayne appeared in court via a video hookup from New York, where he has been jailed since March after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. James Tilson, Carter's Arizona attorney, said he was pleased with the court's action. "We're quite glad that we were able to wrap everything up," Tilson told Reuters. "It's a favorable plea agreement that will allow Mr. Carter to pursue his career." (ABC News)
The rapper's I Am Still Music tour kicked off earlier this week.
Lil Wayne launched the second leg of his "I Am Still Music" tour at Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Conn., on Wednesday night (July 13). Following sets from Lloyd and Far East Movement, Keri Hilson stole the spotlight, performing material from her sophomore album No Boys Allowed. Rocking a pink jumpsuit and holding a sack of money, the blonde bandit wielded a gun-shaped mic as she delivered her girl power anthems. (Rap-Up)
