Nicki Minaj Butts Into Trouble, Fined For "Sexually Suggestive Dance Moves"

Young Money star Nicki Minaj has found herself in a small amount of controversy after making headlines for getting penalized over explicit lyrics and sexual dance moves performed at last weekend's Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica.

Details of what went down landed online Tuesday (July 26).
So here's a pretty bizarre/hilarious story for your Tuesday morning. Nicki Minaj performed in Jamaica over the weekend at the Reggae Sumfest 2011. And during her set, she swore numerous times and performed some sexual dance moves. No sh*t, right? Well, the Jamaican police apparently weren't ready for what was going down as they handed her a summons for explicit lyrics and sexual dancing. She didn't have to appear in court for the charges and instead just pleaded guilty and paid the $1,000 fine. (Prefix Mag)
Minaj reportedly hit the Reggae Sumfest stage last Saturday.
On Saturday night she rocked a capacity audience attending the final night of this year's staging of Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay. Her performance, a first in Jamaica, contained many of her popular tracks, but was peppered with expletives accentuated by sexually suggestive dance moves. (Jamaica Observer)
A few days ago, the "Barbie" boasted about her time in Jamaica.
"OMG!!! I swear I just had the TIME of my LIFE @ ReggaeSumFest in JAMAICA!!!!! Jamaica I fell in love tonite! WOWWW!!!!," she tweeted July 24th. (Nicki Minaj's Twitter)
Last year, Minaj's Young Money labelmate Drake caught heat from Jamaican officials for his "Find Your Love" music video.
Edmund Bartlett, the Caribbean country's Minister of Tourism, said artists should be mindful that the message that is conveyed about Jamaica is wrong. "Care has to be taken by all, including our creative artists, in portraying images of our destination and people," Bartlett told the Gleaner. "Gun culture, while not unique to Jamaica, is not enhancing (the island's image)." (Eur Web)
