Promoters Beefing Up Security For Rick Ross' Atlantic City Show

Promoters Beefing Up Security For Rick Ross' Atlantic City Show
To prepare for Rick Ross' performance at Summer Fest an Atlantic City promoter hires 100 security guards and numerous police officers.

The promoter for Atlantic City’s Summer Fest 2011 doesn’t expect any problems once the festival takes place on Saturday, July 2 but he isn’t taking any chances when it comes to security.

Craig Newsome, the festivals promoter, has hired 100 guards and several police officers for a crowd that will likely be around 7,000 strong for the Hip Hop festival.

“We’re here to show that an independent company with the right vision and the right teamwork can do just as well as the casinos do,” Newsome explained to PressOfAtlanticCity.com. “We can help the city shine, too…Violence doesn’t happen at every hip-hop event. We’re praying ourselves that it won’t happen.”

The Atlantic City police department also gave their thoughts on the festival and seemed relatively optimistic about things going smoothly, but explained that they will be prepared if anything does happen.
“We’re well aware of everything involving these guys,” said Atlantic City Deputy Police Chief Henry White. “We don’t anticipate any problems. If something does happen, we will be prepared.”

Summer Fest 2011 will include performances from Rick Ross, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Meek Mill, and Beanie Sigel.
