"DMX Wasn't A Nice Motherf*cker & He Had A Million Dollar Voice"

Bad Boy Records rapper Machine Gun Kelly recently talked about his new "Warning Shot" record and why DMX is his favorite hip-hop artist.

MGK said despite its title, his "Warning Shot" is not directed at any particular rapper.
"I don't really have any cosigns at all. No one's really wanted to make friends with me in the rap game. I've been around muthaf*ckas for a while, and I've never really been the one that people have reached out to. I don't view it as I'm not wanted. I view it as I'm a f*ckin' problem. So I pretty much just made a warning shot to everybody. Like, Yo, I'm not here to be friends...And I made a bunch of artist references throughout the whole song. I said, 'I'm Pitbull, that 'X' sh*t/That 'goin in at they neck' sh*t -- DMX is my favorite rapper, so I compared myself to DMX. He was unpredictable. He was exactly who he said he was. He let the world see him for him. And he wasn't a nice muthaf*cka. And he had a million dollar voice." (XXL Mag)
Last September, video vixen Amber Rose revealed her past crush on DMX.
"Let's Play a Game!!! Guess my Fav Rapper of the 90's and I'll CALL U!!! GO!," she tweeted on Wednesday (September 1).
"If u think u said DMX First twitter search it @KingAubrey Said it first. Sorry :-)."
"I LOVED DMX Man I thought I was gonna marry him in the 7th Grade I need him to come back!!!! Come back hubby Lol." (Amber Rose's Twitter)
In 2010, rap mogul Jay-Z credited X for perfecting his onstage performance skills.
"In hip-hop, there's not many great performers," Jay said in an interview. "I look outside the genre, measuring myself against others. I look at Madonna's production and envy that. Daft Punk's set...ll my early years? Forget it. I was a horrible performer. DMX tore me to pieces. I remember being stunned. [DMX] had me really working. But I had to figure this out. If you want to be a headliner, you better put on a headline show." (Los Angeles Times)
Earlier this summer, Machine Gun Kelly talked to SOHH about linking with Bad Boy.
"The way it all started was before Bad Boy/Interscope, it was a major label bidding war. At the end of the day, surprisingly to what people may think, Puff was the one person who said, "I don't want to touch or change your movement. I just want to get that machine." Bad Boy recently inked with Interscope and he brought me to Jimmy Iovine one night in the hotel room on a fluke though. He was like, "I gotta go run an errand." I think this was either my first or second time meeting Puff and I was like, "OK, this is kind of random. It's 2 AM in the morning. Who has to run an errand at 2 AM?" (SOHH Guest Star)
