Kreayshawn Says She's Bigger Than 'Gucci Gucci', "This Is Not My 'Thong' Song"

West Coast newcomer Kreayshawn has reassured fans she is here for the long haul and despite the mainstream success of "Gucci Gucci," there are plenty more records in store.

Asked if she felt "Gucci Gucci" was along the lines of R&B singer Sisqo's "Thong Song", Kreay promised her career is not slowing down.
"No, this is not my 'Thong Song'," Kreayshawn said in an interview. "This is only the beginning. This is a song that got me up here and got me recognized, and I got more to come. When we did 'Gucci Gucci,' we did a whole bunch of other songs so there is a lot more coming. -- Sisqó's the man. I don't care, it doesn't matter. Whatever, man -- I still wear thongs...I'm gonna be making hits, man. I'm here to stay." (Tim Westwood TV)
A few weeks ago, rapper Gucci Mane spoke to SOHH about his thoughts on Kreay.
"I think she hard," Gucci told SOHH when asked what he thinks about the West Coast newcomer. "She's got it. I seen a couple [of her videos] on the Internet and I think she goes hard. I could see us [hooking up musically] in Atlanta. Definitely. I would love to work with her." (SOHH)
Her "Gucci Gucci" track also caught Lil Wayne's attention, who freestyled over its instrumental earlier this summer.
In the meantime, fans of "Gucci Gucci" can hear Lil Wayne rapping over the track on his "Sorry 4 the Wait" mixtape, which hit the Web last week. Kreayshawn says she was "very flattered" from the rap giant using her track, and that she first heard about the remixed track from an unlikely source. "One of the first people who called me and told me about it was my grandpa," says Kreayshawn. "He's like, 'Yeah, Wayne's rapping over your beat. I think he's dissing you! Is Wayne dissing?' And I'm like, 'Oh, what? I gotta hear this.' So I listened to it and I'm like, 'No pop-pop, it's a mixtape!' It's an honor to me... I'm excited that [Wayne] noticed and I'm able to get some of his fans to listen to the original version and they like me too." (Billboard)
In June, Kreayshawn admitted she broke rap mogul Diddy's heart by signing a deal with Columbia instead of his Bad Boy Records label.
"He hit me and he was mad about the whole signing thing. He was like, 'Yo, I wanted to work with you, blah, blah blah,' " Kreayshawn recalled. The upstart rapper went on to reveal an amusing tidbit to the Bad Boy mogul. "Honestly, I've always had a picture of you next to me and my kindergarten picture," Kreay recalled telling him. "I always put it on my wall, and I tell people, 'That's my dad. P. Diddy's my dad.' And he was like, 'Yo, I have to adopt you.'" (MTV)
