"That Would've Been So G If [Justin Bieber] Would've Done All The Swearing"

Young Money's Drake recently shared his reaction to teenage pop star Justin Bieber releasing a remixed version of "Trust Issues" and admits he wanted to hear the fellow Canadian artist's uncensored lyrics.

Drizzy admitted he initially thought Bieber would let the profanity-laced rhymes remain on the track.

When Justin Bieber dropped his remix of Drake's "Trust Issues" over the weekend, many wondered whether the 17-year-old pop star would keep the lyrics intact and throw out F-bombs and the track's other profanities. The baby-faced singer most certainly did not, trading Drake's "F--- it, I'm on one" line for "You know I'm on one." "I wish he would've left all the cuss words in it. I feel like that would've been so G, if he would've done all the swearing," Drake told MTV News from Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV release party on Sunday. "I was excited when I heard he remixed it, because there was like a gang of swearing in that song. I was like, 'Oh, we're about to hear the transformation of Bieber.'" (MTV)

Justin Bieber's "Trust Issues" remix, which he released on Twitter just a few hours before the VMAs, has us a bit concerned about the Biebs. That Justin would attempt a Drake cover is no real surprise:They're buddies, and Biebs likes rapping so much that he invented an alter ego for the purpose. On "Trust Issues," he wisely leaves the straight rap verse to Drake; instead, Biebs sings the emo parts about ladies and fame and mixing your drink together just so. But the song choice, paired with his sour expression at the VMAs, makes us worry about Bieber and his emotional well-being. (New York Mag)

Last month, producer/rapper David Banner talked about becoming aware of Bieber's appreciation for hip-hop while making their "Ladies Love Me" collaboration.

And what happened, particularly when it came time for Bieber's contribution, took the entire studio by surprise. "I'm very protective of hip-hop, and I would never produce a song if I didn't think it was jamming," Banner shared, "and Justin Bieber floored everybody in the studio." For those questioning the credibility of Shawty Mane's hustle and flow skills, Banner sets the record straight. "When I look at the blogs, people are trying to dust it like: 'Did somebody write it? Was it Pro-Tooled together?' That boy... I actually wanted the very first take. We ended up doing it again, but he spit the whole verse all the way down non-stop. He spit," Banner clarified, explaining that the Biebs is a true student of hip-hop. "It made me feel good because it shows you the effect of [hip-hop] culture. And for him to study and dissect our culture that way... he really has a respect to spend that much time, because that takes practice to be able to spit and rap like that. And I was impressed." In early summer, rapper Asher Roth also detailed Bieber's love for the rap game.

"Bieber is my guy, like, I think people really think I'm joking or I'm lying when I say we legitimately used to babysit him," Roth revealed in an interview. "Not on some young kid stuff but we would look out for him and look after him. When I was in Atlanta, I had moved to Atlanta, Bieber moves down the street from me and he was like 12, 13 at the time. We used to just come over and hang out. We used to play [video game] Rock Band and chill. I have Bieber rapping on the [2008 Greenhouse Effect mixtape] 'Cannon' [song]. ... You cannot not be happy for an over successful fun loving good kid. He's a really, really awesome dude...He's a hip-hop head, he really is -- he loves it.
