Too Short Blows The Whistle, "How Did They Say I Died This Time?"

West Coast rap veteran Too Short is clearing the air after reports emerged online this week claiming he met his untimely demise.

Hopping on Twitter, Short alerted fans of his alive and healthy status.

"Stop calling my phone. I'm not dead. Been in the lab working on my 19th album #NoTrespassing in stores Feb 2012," he tweeted November 22nd.

"Are U serious? How did they say I died this time? And when did wikipidia & twitter become reliable news sources???" (Too Short's Twitter)

Rumors claiming Too Short was dead began circulating online earlier this week.

The reports of their deaths have been greatly exaggerated on Twitter -- with the Oakland hip-hop legend just the latest to suffer Mark Twain's tragic fate (or not) via 140 characters or less. This disturbing trend regularly freaks out fans, with false info spreading like digital wildfire on the micro blogging site. (Entertainment Weekly)

Not alone in death rumors, rapper Missy Elliott also fell victim to false gossip a few days ago.

"I'm Great ppl 4 all who keep asking! Alive and well! Enjoy ya night tweeps!," she tweeted November 20th.

"@iLive4MISSY. Yea Sadly sum1 was that miserable to make up such a cruel rumor! It Makes me work harder make em mad!"

Along with Short and Elliott, rapper/singer Akon was believed to have died over the weekend.

Fake death reports about Missy Elliott and fellow rapper Akon began circulating on the Internet on Sunday. The source of the fake death reports are said to be the same fake news Web site that has published the fake death of golfer Tiger Woods, Will Smith, Denzel Washington and other celebrities.
