Nas Gets Nasty Late At Night, Reps Super Bowl-Bound NFL Team

Rap veteran Nas showed off his loyalty toward the Super Bowl-bound New York Giants last night (February 2) during a performance of his "Nasty" hit record on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

Backed by the Roots band, Nasty Nas wore a New York Giants fitted cap during his set.
Nas kicked off Super Bowl weekend with an appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." Repping his home team the New York Giants, the hip-hop icon teamed up with The Roots to perform "Nasty" on Thursday night's show, which was broadcast from Indianapolis' Hilbert Circle Theater. He later headlined a concert with the band at EA Sports' Madden Bowl kickoff party at the Bud Light Hotel. (Rap-Up)
Not alone in his support of the Giants, Slaughterhouse's Joell Ortiz recently weighed in on their chances of winning this weekend's Super Bowl XLVI.
"The Giants embody New York," Ortiz tells XXLMag.com. "They are the way New York runs. It's hard nose, it may not be pretty, but the job gets done. And Victor Cruz is the perfect example that you ain't gotta go to this big [college] to get noticed. You just have to work hard. He worked hard, he outworked people and he impressed people and he's one of, if not the best wide receiver on the Giants. Eli Manning, it doesn't look pretty. It's not finess, it's not like his brother [Peyton], the crispness [in the passes], but the job gets done. That's what New York dudes do: we get it done. Everybody knows when New York is in town. The Giants embody New York to me, man -- Honestly, as a fan of football, not just because I'm from New York, I honestly think they have a great shot of winning the Super Bowl because of that wining attitude." G-Unit's 50 Cent recently predicted the Giants would pull out the win.
"I'm up 500,000 off the last one. f*ck it ill bet it back Ill put a 1,000,000 on my G MEN. STUNNER you got the # hit me if you want it.," he tweeted.
"I know what he said fool RT @AbuArije: @BIRDMAN5STAR said 5 @50cent not 1 million"
"I just check the spread Hold up the M casino in vegas said patriots-3 I'm have to bet over there unless STUNNTER giving up points. Get at me" (50 Cent's Twitter)
Outside of sports talk, renowned actor/film director Robert Townsend gave SOHH the scoop on his admiration toward Nas.
"I don't know, I don't know because I would say Nas. You know what? I'd say Nas," Townsend told SOHH when asked what hip-hop artist is most underrated. "He's really brilliant. I think it's his creativity that stands out. Lyrically, he knows how to put it all together. There's some lines and sometimes when I'm with my kids, we'll listen to different things [like Nas' music] and he's just brilliant. I just think Nas is up there with the best. Right now Lil Wayne is at the top of his game but he's up there with the best and he's got a point of view." (SOHH)
