"I'm a fan of Ross, I'm a fan of Maybach, Meek, Wale. From a business perspective and just a fan of they music. I ain't gonna really go into no further details about it, but I'm a fan of it and I feel what they doing all the way." (XXL Mag)Speculation of a Nipsey and Maybach deal emerged online just last week.
There have been rumors going around the internet about a possible Maybach Music Group signing for Nipsey Hussle since a few weeks. The rumors have now gained strength because of Nipsey re-tweeting this particular MMG tweet "MMG WEST COMING SOON" which hints at the birth of a West division of the MMG imprint. Power moves indeed. (Hip Hop N More)Last fall, Southern rapper Diego Cash named Nipsey Hussle SOHH Underrated.
"For me, I know Nipsey personally. I've done been to his house and hung out with him before. I've heard his music and seen his visuals. I've liked everything I heard. I'm someone that tries to keep my eyes focused on the newer artists that are coming out and [co-sign] Nipsey. The older artists have already been out anyway, you know what I mean? That's how I feel about it. Nipsey's out there and represents the West. There's no question about that. Of course you know he's standing for [California]. He represents the West. I feel like that's perfect. He's what's going on on in the West Coast right now." (SOHH Underrated)Outside of the MMG camp, Nipsey has teamed up with fellow California radio personality DJ Skee.
According to DJ Skee, the two have had respect for one another since they first met and the team up will allow them to bring together their respective followers to create a larger impact on the Internet than they could achieve individually. "The big announcement that we talking about today is that DJ Skee and Neighborhood Nip teaming up. We connected our movements. It's 2012 and we saw the artists that have been successful recently. Most of them built up their Internet base ahead of time and took advantage of the Internet and the new media and so, I think that what you've got going, Skee, is the perfect platform for artists like myself," Nipsey explained. The partnership will see Nipsey link his All Money In Entertainment with Skee's eponymous website and the DJ will now be responsible for licensing, partnership development, marketing deals and management of Hussle and his brand.
