@S_C_ Jay-Z Signs Roc Nation To Warner Music

“I ran through that buck fifty Live Nation fronted me/They workin’ on another deal, they talkin’ two hundred fifty!/I’m holdin’ out for three/Two seventy five and I just might agree.”
Nostradamus-type of prediction, maybe? According to Billboard, Jay and the (new) Roc signed “worldwide publishing administration deals with Warner/Chappell Music,” giving Jay the rights back to his music post-Def Jam (starting with The Blueprint 3, all the way to Watch The Throne) as well as future works, with most of his older catalog moving to the Warner umbrella within the year.
A separate deal will put the past and future catalogs of Roc Nation’s stable of artists on the publisher’s roster immediately, including songwriters Philip Lawrence (Bruno Mars, Flo Rida, Cee-Lo Green), S1 (Kanye West, Beyonce, 50 Cent), Carmen Key (Flo Rida, David Guetta), and British singer Rita Ora, among others.
So… Jay-Z is, somehow, getting paid “Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon”-style off of Flo Rida? Yeah, I’m in the wrong corner of the music business.
