Epic Records is anticipated to announce songwriter/producer Christopher “Tricky” Stewart as head of A&R at the label.

Over the past few years, Tricky has found success with writing partner The-Dream, lending his pen to hits including Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” Justin Bieber’s “Baby,” Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body.”

Though the appointment is yet to be confirmed, sources close to the situation tell Billboard.biz that the deal is expected to go through. Additionally, ex-LaFace Records executive Mark Shimmel will be positioned as senior executive at Sony Music.
