Premiered by radio veteran Funkmaster Flex last night (July 20), the track features Hov and Ye going back and forth with bars.
"Otis," a hard-hitting track built around a sample of Otis Redding's "Try A Little Tenderness," hit the web on Wednesday night (July 20) via Funkmaster Flex's blog. After an extended intro, "Otis" finds Jay and Kanye trading filthy rhymes, with Hov spitting, "Photo shoot fresh, looking like wealth/I'm about to call the paparazzi on myself," and West later countering, "I made Jesus walk so I'm never going to hell/Couture-level flow, it's never going on sale." The track does not feature a chorus, unlike "H*A*M," the Lex Luger-produced track that was released in January. (Billboard)On the record, both emcees make multiple pop culture references and take credit for being trend setters.
"I invented swag, poppin' bottles, puttin' supermodels in a cab," Hov rhymes before going on about his super-exclusive watch collection. Only eight bars pass before Jay tosses the mic to West, who picks up where his Big Brother left off. "D*mn, Yeezy and Hov, where the hell you been/ N---as talkin' real reckless, stuntmen/ I adopted these n---as, Phillip Drummond 'em," 'Ye raps, turning the fictional father from the 1980s sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes" into an actual verb. The release date for Watch The Throne, Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaborative album has been released. According to the Def Jam website, the highly-anticipated LP will drop on July 6... 2012. Wow. That is much later than fans would have thought/wanted. Do you think it's a smart move for the two hip hop heavyweights, who were seen going "H.A.M." earlier today, to wait an entire year to release the project? Is this the real date? (College DJ)
