Raekwon Says He's Still All About The C.R.E.A.M

Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon has updated anxious fans hoping to see his forthcoming C.R.E.A.M. biopic flick hit the big screen and described what ultimately motivated the project.
The "Chef" claims the movie idea came during the making of his 2009 solo album.
"When I was working on my album [Only Built 4] Cuban Linx II, I actually sat down with a couple of my guys from my company and we wrote a story basically about my life," Rae explained in an interview. "It's called C.R.E.A.M -- [and] we finally got it together where it's a great biopic film about a kid such as myself growing up in an urban neighborhood and having to deal with the day-to-day [life], having to grow up in a single [parent situation] where your moms, she's your mother and your father. All you know is the streets, you pay attention to things that go on [there] and then there become choices that you make. There's been things that I've been involved with in my life, some good, some bad, but I consider myself having a full life. I just wanted to put it in a great storyline and basically give the young kid that's coming from where I came an opportunity to see the things that I've been through because he may be able to relate." Last month, Rae dished out details about the film revealing one cast member.
"Cee Lo Green [is] playing my pops in the film," Chef revealed in an interview. "Cee-Lo is gon' play Raekwon's ol' dad! ... [He's] a good friend of mine. When I called him and told him about it he was just overwhelmed. He's just one out of the greats that's gonna be on the project...We're definitely going for the theaters. The people that are gonna be involved with it definitely feel like it's a great picture, and there's a definite possibility it's a Lions Gate film." (XXL Mag)
In 2009, Rae hinted at his plans to venture into Hollywood.
"I'm starting to really do that film thing," Raekwon told DJ Whoo Kid in an interview. "Cause I had to go to LA to really invest what's going on with that paper. Because when you do this rap sh*t so long, you kinda wanna go to another level with it. I've been scheming on that since RZA been out there. We always been involved with that because we always got people calling us to do sh*t. I just wanted to go out there and I bumped into a little gold mine." (Radio Planet TV)
Earlier this year, Rae hit up SOHH explained why he felt he is SOHH Underrated.
"I come from a spot where you're never supposed to feel satisfied. You know what I mean? You're supposed to keep growing and growing. It's like seeing a big tree out there and it's been out there for a hundred years. It's gonna be hard to knock that n*gga down so that's how I feel about my career. I feel [being] underrated is still good because at the end of the day, when you're underrated, it automatically says that you got a certain fan base that's gonna ride with you and they know you're underrated. So you know what, with me and my set of motherf*ckers going out there, and just saying, "Yo, this is the music we're coming for and that's the music we're [about]," underrated is still respected but it's about them showing what they can do."
