UPDATE: The King Of The South Exits Prison

Incarcerated rapper T.I. has reportedly been released from an Atlanta prison to complete the rest of his probation violation sentence in a halfway house.

Details of the "King of the South's" release emerged online Thursday (September 15).

Attorney Steven Sadow told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., was released between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. and will remain at the Dismas Charities Atlanta halfway house until he is freed from federal custody Sept. 29. Sadow said after he is freed, the rapper will have one year of supervised release. He also faces travel restrictions. (Access Atlanta)

Although Tip is no longer behind federal bars, he must remain at the halfway house through September.

T.I. will now stay at the Atlanta halfway house through Sept. 29, when his prison term ends, said Sadow. After that, T.I. will be a free man, although he'll be on federal probation for another year. (Associated Press)

Last week, T.I.'s re-imprisonment was explained through leaked legal documents.

T.I. was hauled back to prison because prison officials believed he had people from his reality show on the bus that took him to his halfway house ... this according to official documents obtained by TMZ. According to the incident report, when T.I. was released from prison on August 31, he was under specific instructions to be transported to his halfway house -- where he would serve the remaining 30 days of his sentence -- but he could ONLY travel with his wife ... and he wasn't allowed to conduct business on the bus. But prison officials say T.I. also had his manager, along with 2 VH1 producers on board. Prison officials believe T.I. and his crew were yakking about his reality show as well as a book -- a violation of the rules. (TMZ)

Despite getting released to a halfway house in late August, T.I. was placed back in prison days later.

Grammy-winning rapper T.I., who was freed after months in prison, was back in federal custody Thursday because of a flap over his use of a luxury bus to report to a halfway house, his lawyer said. Steve Sadow told The Associated Press that the Federal Bureau of Prisons "has moved T.I. to a different facility" because of an issue involving the rapper's 375-mile trip Wednesday from the Arkansas lockup to Atlanta in a gleaming motor coach. He did not elaborate on the exact nature of the problem federal authorities had, but said it was not drug-related. He said they are trying to resolve the problem. T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, traveled with an entourage to check into the halfway house, stepping off the bus clad in a red and blue striped polo shirt and white shirts. "There appears to be confusion surrounding the method of transportation," Sadow said. (CBS News)
