At this point everybody who watches The Boondocks knows that the show comes out on its own time. Well, apparently creator Aaron McGruder has launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce a live-action version of the series based on everybody’s favorite bigot, Uncle Ruckus. No word on when – or if, at this point – Season 4 of the animated series will actually drop, though…

For the second time, Rihanna graces the cover of Rolling Stone. And during the cover story, she opens up about her relationshop with Frank Ocean’s best friend.
I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about shit. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.
He doesn’t have the luxury of fucking up again. That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.
The woman who called 911 to report the Rick Ross drive-by shooting had to hang up the phone and HIDE mid-call fearing the gunmen were turning around to spray a second wave of gunfire.
The call was made early Monday morning from a restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida ... while the rapper was trying to speed away from the shooter in his Rolls-Royce.
A woman inside of a nearby restaurant called 911 in a panic and reported, "I just heard a bunch of gunshots go off ... and a car sped by."
The caller then interrupted the operator and said, "Oh my god, they're turning around and coming back ... I'm hanging up."
When the operator tried to ask more questions about the situation -- the caller shot back, "They're coming back ... I'm hiding."
The caller then hangs up the phone.
Ross eventually crashed his car into a nearby apartment building. So far, the cops have not made any arrests in the case.

Sitting down with MTV, Pusha T speaks on the recent attempt on Rick Ross’ life.
I don’t wanna hear about that with anybody. I definitely hit him up like, ‘Yo just let me know you’re okay?’And if you haven’t, be sure to download Pusha T’s new mixtape Wrath Of Caine. Outside of a few iffy hooks, the project is definitely on point.
It’s tough out here as an artist and being in rap it’s like this is the only profession where you don’t really leave your core. You don’t really leave your upbringing. You don’t really leave that behind; you stay in it lyrically and so on and so forth. So it’s like you can’t really get out of it, you can’t really get away from it. I don’t care how much money you have.
Well, that was fast. After finally getting to Lil B’s dedication toward the Pro Era spitter (and in utter tears at that album cover), I hit Joey’s the Twitter to see that he just let this response loose. Using a flip/loop of Janet Jackson’s “That’s The Way Love Goes?” Does anybody else see how hilariously genius that is?
Life + Times simply announced the union of Timmy and the Roc with the lone message: “And I Won’t Surrender It With Beats By TIMBALAND.” What comes from this remains to be see, but we can agree that the Roc got a little bit better with the award-winning producer now on deck.
You can currently catch the two reunite on Justin Timbelake’s new single, “Suit & Tie.”

UPDATE 2: CNN has more details.
UPDATE: You didn’t think Curtis would let this be great, did you?
During a conversation with Pitchfork, Danny Brown speaks on his upcoming album Old, his Black Hippy/Beatles comparison and his favorite artists.
You once tweeted that “Black Hippy are the new Beatles and I’m Harry Nilsson.” How would you match up the Beatles to the Black Hippy crew?Hit the jump for some choice quotes about Old and click here for the full interview.
Kendrick would be Paul McCartney, Schoolboy Q would be John Lennon, Ab-Soul would be George Harrison– and [laughs] Jay Rock would be Ringo. I’m like the unofficial fifth member of Black Hippy.
People are always like, ‘Danny, you old’, or, ‘I liked your old shit better.’ I didn’t want to just continue where I left off with XXX, because I got a lot of younger fans now that don’t know nothing about the hip-hop shit. If people are just looking for dick-sucking jokes, there isn’t too many of them.
XXX sounded very specifically and consciously sequenced to form a narrative, did you approach the making of Old in the same way?
I always try to act like I’m some old school artist from the 1960s, so I approached this album like I was making it for vinyl: There’s a side A and a side B. The way I look at it, I’ve always been two different artists anyway; I do that underground hip-hop shit and that turned-up trap shit. XXX told a story, so I wanted this one to be like “Curb Your Enthusiasm”– it’s random and all over the place, but by the end it comes together.
You’ve said that while you were making XXX you were listening to a lot of Joy Division. Were there any specific artists you looked to for this album?
I made XXX with the aim of getting great reviews. And when I started making Old, I was trying to think of artists that came back from getting great reviews and made an album that was just as good– or better! The only group I could really come up with was Radiohead. So if XXX was my OK Computer, then I’d have to make my Kid A next. So I studied Kid A, and I took away that it’s not so much about the lyrics as it is about the way the beats feel, so what drives this album is the production. I wanted to have the most amazing beats, but I still want them to sound minimal– it’s still gotta sound like a Danny Brown beat. It can’t sound like no fucking Kanye orchestra shit. That ain’t me. That’s why I took so long with making this album. I was waiting for the perfect beats. And I got ‘em.
You recently said that Old would be “less funny” than XXX — but a good deal of XXX isn’t very funny.
With XXX, I was trying to make a comedy that also had a lot of drama. This one is just like mad drama [laughs]– to the point where shit is so fucked up that you need a release. You can’t just keep dwelling on how fucked up shit is because that ain’t going to do nothing but make you feel depressed, so you gotta just say “fuck it” and take drugs and party.
Fresh off signing a deal with RCA Records, A$AP Ferg reveals to XXL that he plans to drop his Trap Lord mixtape late February/early March.
My plan is to drop this Trap Lord mixtape, shake the world up a little bit, turn the world upside down. And just have fun. It’s about having fun. Y’all seen A$AP get the lawsuits and fight and all of this crazy stuff, now I want y’all to see the fun part. I’ve been in the passenger seat with Rocky driving for a while. Now it’s the part where they see what success brings you.
A Trap Lord is basically the struggle to do better. It’s almost like the theme of Always Strive And Prosper (A$AP). Trap don’t necessarily mean you selling drugs. You could be selling clothes, watches, fake watches, gold teeth, hats—anything. You just trapping. And you a Lord of it.
