Drake Packs Up His Bags, Bids Farewell To Toronto

Young Money star Drake recently revealed he no longer kicks his feet up in hometown Toronto, Canada and has made the official move to Hollywood.

Along with the change of scenario, Drizzy also talked about putting together his Take Care follow-up album.

"I think that my mood will be reflected in the tempos that I choose for the music," Drake said of his next LP during a press conference call Tuesday. "A lot of Take Care, it's down, a lot of it's down and I think a lot of that had to do with being back home in Toronto and getting reacquainted with the life I had before and the difficulties of that, but at the same time trying to express excitement and trying to express joy." Though he still keeps a place in his native Toronto, Drake has recently moved to L.A. The relocation has already sparked musical ideas for the Young Money star. "There's just so much going on for me in the U.S. that I recently made the move to L.A.," he said. "It's a new atmosphere, getting to know new people. It's going to be a very interesting album." In 2010, the platinum-selling rapper discussed his love for hometown fans.

"Toronto is the biggest inspiration behind my music," he said in an interview. "I do everything I do for Toronto. It's a city I really believe in. It's got a bunch of great people. We got a lot of undiscovered things in Toronto, man: women, nightlife, restaurants, clubs and talent. Women, first. I just wanna bring the city to the forefront. I feel like every place needs an ambassador. They need somebody to show the rest of the world how magical that place can be. I think Jay[-Z] does it for New York, a lot of people do it for Atlanta, Kanye did it for Chicago. A lot of rappers take it upon themselves. So I just really wanna be that guy for Toronto." Recently, Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa talked about his and fiancee Amber Rose's move to Hollywood.

"It was when I was moving out to L.A. and she had actually already lived there at the time and we lived in Hollywood. We were trying to find a nice little spot to get something to eat- something low key. We just went to Mel's diner, sat down, got some turkey burgers and some strawberry lemonade ... and that was our first date." (Global Grind)

Outside of exploring new places, Drizzy has enjoyed sales chart success as of late.

Young Money star Drake's Take Care returned to the Top 20 moving up nine slots to No. 20 with 15,800. With 23 weeks knocked out, the Canadian-bred rapper's sophomore LP has sold 1,699,200 pieces. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
