Houston rap legend Scarface recently confirmed that plans to drop a collaborative album alongside Beanie Sigel were still in tact, and opened up on how the rap game has changed over the past few years.
While the upcoming Mac & Brad LP is shaping together nicely, Face said past collaborations with artists like Jay-Z and Kanye West are not as easy to get anymore.

"We doin' songs, I got six, he got six," Scarface said. "It's a process that we go through to do this album." Face Mob finally found Sigel's number in his address book and called his rap buddy, who picked up on the first ring. "It's a reality now; you know our word is our bond. We said we gonna do somethin', we gonna do it." Uncle Face admits that he himself isn't in contact with Jay-Z and Kanye like he once was -- not that there's any beef, they just kind of lost touch. "I used to have everybody's number on speed dial like that," Face explained. "I hit Jay-Z, and Jay-Z pick up on the first ring. Now I might hit Jay-Z and I might not hear from him for two years," he said laughing hysterically at his own joke. "I used to call Kanye, Kanye pick up on the first ring, now Kanye don't even got no phone, that's how much times have changed." "Man, Beans is a f*cking class act, man," Scarface said in an interview. "I ain't heard nobody f*cking with him, man. He's a f*cking genius, dude. We're got a relationship outside of f*cking radio or whatever the f*ck is going on. That's my partner, though. I can't wait for this sh*t, man. Me and beans is doing some easy sh*t right now. Separate solo acts, you know, but eventually we're gonna double back and do that Mac & Brad sh*t, you know. I just wanted to break that news on XM, Shade 45, I f*cking with it." (Shade 45)A couple years ago, Texas rapper Devin the Dude talked to SOHH about the fellow Houston legend's greatness.
"He never left [rap], so he's not coming back from nowhere man, he's always been musically inclined and as long as there's some musical buttons around or a guitar or a piano or anything. I believe that's what he's always gonna be doing because he's very talented in those areas. He can play the bass, he can play the piano and he can rap and he knows choruses and melodies and everything. I don't think he's gonna quit anytime soon. I think the fans need him and the people need him to continue doing what he's been doing and let him know how genuine he is to hip-hop and how he can help other people mold their careers around what he's doing. I don't think he's gonna be going anywhere any time soon." (SOHH)Face and Beanie may have to rush their studio time together as Beans is set to get sentenced in a tax violation case this summer.
A sentencing hearing on federal tax charges for rapper Beanie Sigel was postponed Thursday. Defense attorneys Fortunato Perri Jr. and Mark Cedrone told U.S. District Judge Jan DuBois on Wednesday that Sigel had not provided the financial information a probation officer requested or allowed a home visit by the officer. DuBois rescheduled sentencing for July 12. (Philly Tablet)Check out a recent Scarface interview below:
