While he has plenty on his plate ranging from music-making to running rap crew Taylor Gang, Wiz acknowledged people's interest in asking him about West.
"I took it as he knows I'm a good guy [on 'Theraflu']," Wiz told the "POV" panel. "He really was into her, so the fact that we're two great people that are treating each other well, he's coming down and saying, 'Hey, hats off to you.' That's how I see it." Khalifa told "RapFix Live" host Sway Calloway he doesn't mind answering the Kanye question. "It doesn't really bother me because it's something that people are gonna always be interested in," he said. "It's something that if I try to fight it then somebody is gonna do it to try to annoy me and then what am I gonna do then? So I just accept it for what it is and keep it pushing man. I got a whole positive campaign and it's all love." (MTV)Earlier in the week, Khalifa gave his initial reaction to hearing Yeezy name drop him on "Way Too Cold (Theraflu)."
During an interview with renowned Funkmaster Flex on New York City's Hot 97 radio dial Monday night (April 23), the Pittsburgh MC said he was very surprised to hear Kanye drop his name on the record. "Shocked?" Flex asked him. "Yes!" Wiz responded. "Why was it so shocking to you?" Flex shot back. "Because he said my name," Wiz answered. "I've gone a long time without anybody actually saying my name out loud like that. It wasn't a bad thing. It was just the fact that it was my name. That's my name. it was wild, it was wild, but nothing negative. Everybody got positive from it, so it's positive." (XXL Mag)On the record, Ye admits having pure respect for Khalifa in light of him dating his ex-wifey.
After reporting that Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music crew would drop their "Mercy" single on Friday (April 6), Funkmaster Flex has gone ahead and premiered a different track from the project. It's called "Theraflu" and features Kanye rapping over a synthy Hit-Boy beat alongside DJ Khaled. Compared to the grandiose statements we're used to from Kanye, this is definitely a more standard rap track. Yeezy calls himself "Swag King Cole" and then gets into brag mode. The song also features the following Amber Rose/Kim Kardashian-referencing lines that will surely hit every trashy celeb blog tomorrow: "The whole industry wanna f*ck your old chick / The only n*gga I got respect for is Wiz / And I'll admit I fell in love with Kim / Right around the same time she fell in love with him." (Exclaim)Aside from addressing West, the rapper recently discussed his wife-to-be.
"It's gonna be as traditional as possible, but I like that word far out too [for our wedding]. It's gonna be a far out wedding. We can't do it too normal. There'll be like a giraffe or something," Khalifa said. "[Weed smoking?] She's like, 'Get it away.' She doesn't hate it, but she will not do it. She'll roll it, she loves how it smells... She just doesn't want to get high 'cause she don't want to feel that." (Hot 97)
