Ma$e's Bad Boy Return Talks Heat Up, Lands A&R Job For French Montana's Debut

Former Bad Boy Records star Ma$e may have had a reason for keeping mum on Maybach Music Group signing speculation this week as new reports suggest he could be reuniting with Diddy.

While a full-fledged reunion has not yet been confirmed, Ma$e is reportedly working on newly signed Bad Boy Records rapper French Montana's debut album.

When contacted by Billboard, Ma$e's camp deflected questions about his future plans. Reps from Maybach didn't return calls for comment. According to Montana, Ma$e is serving as an A&R representative on Montana's forthcoming Bad Boy debut, "Excuse My French," as well as appearing on the remix of Montana's "Everything's a Go." "I'm not sure what kind of decisions he's going to make," Montana says, "[but] I would love to see him in my camp." (Billboard)

A few days ago, Ma$e killed the notion of a still-existing beef between him and Diddy.

"Nah, we surprised each other. Diddy, it is Diddy. To this day, I tell people I don't have no issues with him. I think a lot of times we get put on the other side of each other, just because of history. He's one of the biggest contributors who ever gave to the church. We're probably cooler than I thought." Back in 2009, the Harlem-bred emcee revealed he spent nearly a decade locked into a Bad Boy contract.

"It took me ten years to get this paperwork right here," Mase said in an interview. "I had to put this in UPS with a seal on it. I don't even know what I'ma put out now. Oh my goodness. We good, we good. This is Mase, I got my official papers right here from Puff Daddy, it was love, so I guess we don't have no problems after all. I don't even know how to take that. Both parties appeared to be on the same page once the "Slight Work" remix premiered online this week.

For weeks, Wale's been on Twitter teasing the world about the remix to his current hit single, "Slight Work," claiming the track's co-conspirators would shock everyone. With the song's liberation moments ago, Folarin may have accomplished just that. French Montana's not exactly surprising given his connection with MMG and the fact he's one of rap's more talked about names at the moment*. However, seeing Diddy and Mase on a track together in 2012 may not have been high on the list of guesses. (Smoking Section)
