Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa recently revealed his stance on the music industry and said he prefers to go opposite left when everyone goes a right direction.
Khalifa also talked about his motivation to upgrade his independent status by signing to Atlantic Records in 2010.
Khalifa also talked about his motivation to upgrade his independent status by signing to Atlantic Records in 2010.
"Nah, I'm not anti-industry at all. I'm anti-everything," Khalifa explained on MTV's 'Hip Hop POV.' "Everything. If it's not my little circle of stuff, then I don't really rock with it. ... I just want to be comfortable. ... In the game, you know you've got to make the right moves. I didn't really want to miss out on my chance to set-up and broaden my situation. I didn't want to stay as an independent, underground, making this certain kind of money. I wanted to be and still want to be a megastar." ("Hip Hop POV")Wiz recently displayed his anti-everything approach by ignoring a potential Waka Flocka Flame feud.
"I don't have problems with people, because if I do, I address it," he said when he appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live." "If I feel someone disrespected me or if I feel like somebody was mentioning me in an indirect way I'ma find out how to talk to that person and then we'll squash it from there." Rather than address his feelings in the media, Khalifa said he'd rather wait to speak to the "O Let's Do It" rapper face to face. "What would I say to him? I really want to say it to him. We'll save it for that, it don't gotta be a public thing. It don't gotta be a peace meeting or nothing like that." (MTV)On a lighter note, the rap star is currently preparing to wed one-time video vixen Amber Rose.
"It's gonna be as traditional as possible, but I like that word far out too [for our wedding]. It's gonna be a far out wedding. We can't do it too normal. There'll be like a giraffe or something," Khalifa said. "[Weed smoking?] She's like, 'Get it away.' She doesn't hate it, but she will not do it. She'll roll it, she loves how it smells... She just doesn't want to get high 'cause she don't want to feel that." (Hot 97)Rose recently talked about their wedding planning and how hyped up she is.
"We are not getting married for a while so I might change my mind," Amber told OK! after disembarking off of Virgin America's first fight to Philadelphia from L.A., "But I actually did find the dress that I want." Amber has a "lot going on," currently working on her first album, but still finds time to browse ideas for her upcoming nuptials. "I look through bridal magazines constantly and I look for references. I look through Vogue and a lot of high fashion magazines," the Philadelphia native said before hitting up Virgin America's launch party at the Palomar Hotel. Working together to plan their wedding ceremony must be a walk in the park after Amber and the "No Sleep" singer successfully collaborated on Wiz's last mix tape. "Oh it's easy!," the socialite explained of working with Wiz, "Please, he's my best friend so it's a breeze." Congratulations, Amber and Wiz! (OK! Magazine)Check out Wiz Khalifa's interview below:
