West Coast newcomer Kreayshawn's latest shot at the small screen has been derailed as reports claim rock group the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are not televising her "Adventures of Rain Dance Maggic" music video.
According to the group's lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis, they wanted to take a different approach than what Kreay offered.
According to the group's lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis, they wanted to take a different approach than what Kreay offered.
The group originally enlisted the Bay Area artist to direct the video for their new single "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie," but ended up going with a different concept. "We had one sort of failed attempt at making a video for this song, which was indoors and just kind of dark and dank and not really fun or anything, so we thought, 'Let's go with the opposite of that,'" Anthony Kiedis said. (Rap-Up)Prior to the video getting scrapped, Kreay weighed in on what fans could anticipate.
"It's got that organic feel, but it still gives the band a great shine and they look f*cking awesome," she explained in an interview. "They are looking off the chain, man. Anthony's in there looking like a swimsuit model." (MTV)Prior to reportedly dropping out, Kreay attended the Berkeley Digital Film Institute.
"I shot my first music video maybe about 8 months ago, but I've always been playing with cameras since I was young," she said in a summer 2010 interview. "Berkeley film school is pretty sweet. Um, I got a full scholarship there, so I've just been rocking that. Tryna finish, I'm gonna graduate next may and move to L.A." (Ontask Family)While the rock band may not need her services, Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane recently told SOHH he wanted a collaboration with Kreay.
"I think she hard," Gucci told SOHH when asked what he thinks about the West Coast newcomer. "She's got it. I seen a couple [of her videos] on the Internet and I think she goes hard. I could see us [hooking up musically] in Atlanta. Definitely. I would love to work with her." (SOHH)
