T.I. Finally Gets Uncaged, The "King" Released From Halfway House

Grammy-winning rapper T.I. has finally become a freed man after getting released from an Atlanta halfway house Thursday (September 29) morning.

Details of his halfway house release emerged early Thursday.
Grammy Award-winning rapper T.I. was released early on Thursday from the federal halfway house in Atlanta where he finished up an 11-month sentence on weapons possession and drug charges, a prison official said. The 31-year-old Atlanta entertainer, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was assigned to the halfway house for the last month of his sentence after being released August 31 from a federal prison in Arkansas. Prior to his release, Grand Hustle's DJ Drama discussed Tip's return to studio grinding.
"I mean, it's really just back to work," Drama told SOHH about having Tip back in the studio. "You know what I'm saying? Like, that's what we do. So the homie had to take another little hiatus, but you know what I mean, we're past that and getting right to it. It's not like we're sitting down and playing happy camper. This is what we do and it's time to get back to work, making music for the people and giving them what they want to hear. My goal was to keep it hot while he was gone and now that he's here, we've got bigger and better things to accomplish." (SOHH)
A few days ago, Drama chopped it up with New York's Power 105.1 radio host DJ Clue about Tip putting together new records.
"Tip just came home. I was in the studio with him," Drama said. "He's actually about to drop a new song next week." He explained that although Tip is in a halfway home, he's still able to produce music. "He's in a halfway house but when you're in a halfway house you can still get to work. So he's been in the studio during work time and he's banging out. Actually [his time in the halfway house] ends next week. So he'll be in the streets by the B.E.T. Hip Hop Awards." (Power 105.1)
Earlier this month, the "King of the South" was released from an Atlanta prison to complete the remainder of an 11-month sentence.
Attorney Steven Sadow told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., was released between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. and will remain at the Dismas Charities Atlanta halfway house until he is freed from federal custody Sept. 29. Sadow said after he is freed, the rapper will have one year of supervised release. He also faces travel restrictions. (Access Atlanta)
