Game Explains His "Charles Louboutin" Rap Alias

Game credited his new nickname as a result of other rap stars' catchy monikers.
"Christian Louboutin is the red bottom, man," Game explained in an interview. "I'm kinda like the red connoisseur, so it is what it is, man. 'Charles Louboutin.' It's fly. But you know, everybody always had their nicknames, you know what I'm saying? [Rick] Ross has the -- 'Don,' Jay-Z got Hov. You know what I'm saying? Dr. Dre's got Dr. Dre. Snoop [Dogg's] got Snoop Doggy Dogg. Boss Dogg. So I thought I'd come up with something creative that would kind of sit there and stand for what I am and also give the ladies a little, [smiles], so you know, it's Charles Louboutin." (Rap-Up TV)
In October 2009, Game officially altered his stage name.
"It's just Game now, I took the 't-h-e' off, you know what I'm saying," Game confirmed in an interview. "I'm just coastin' through, day-by-day, somebody got a script, I'ma read it, if it fits me, hopefully I'll get it. I'm just day-by-day right now. I'm strictly on the color red, I ain't going no further than that, it's gonna be the craziest album out of all four of 'em and it's the most hood album..." (Hip Hollywood)
Game recently began work on a music video for his "Red Nation" single.
"We shot this real rebel scene. I was over there in a bunch of dirt with rocks, and behind the gate were a bunch of guys I couldn't see, looking all menacing and scary and [with] bats and sticks and poles," Game told MTV News on the set. "And that was kinda crazy, man. I was in sort of like an army fatigue thing, doing my thing. But it was fun, man, the first shot -- had a lot of fun, got real sweaty 'cause I was jumping around, man. A lotta dust and smoke -- it was crazy, man." (MTV)
