Drake Addresses Young Money Departure, Lil Wayne Conflict Rumors

Young Money's Drake has once again addressed rumors claiming he is unhappy with his residence at Lil Wayne's label and ready to jump ship.

According to the Canadian-bred emcee, he sees no other home than at Young Money.
"I never really know where those rumors stem from," Drake said in an interview. "I'm really happy at Young Money; I really don't want to go anywhere. Me and Wayne have a great relationship...At the end of the day, [Lil Wayne], that's my boss. I'm his soldier. I'm cool with that. I'm good with that -- That's the role I want to play. He put me here." (MTV)
Earlier this year, gossip emerged online that suggested Drizzy was leaving YM for Jay-Z's Roc Nation label.
According to a member of YOUNG MONEY, Drake would like to LEAVE the label . . . and join his friend J Cole over at Jay Z's ROC NATION label. The insider explained, "Drake likes making music with [Lil Wayne] and the rest, but he's a different dude. There's a lot of hood [ish] that goes down at Young Money, and Drake's not a hood [dude], so he wants to be away from that." MediaTakeOut.com's insider goes on, "Drake's mother is also worried . . . She doesn't want him around gangs or drugs." And it gets better. MediaTakeOut.com learned that JAY Z is pulling strings - to try and [buy] Drake's contract from Bryan "Baby" Williams - Cash Money's CEO. The insider explained, "[Jay] is playing hardball, he wants Drake and he's not trying to pay too much for him. He's moving in slowly. Right now he's working [behind the scenes] on Drake's tour. Under Drake's current deal [with Cash Money], Drake owes them records, but not tours." (Media Take Out)
Following the rumors, Drake laid the speculation to rest via Twitter.
"YMCMB for the rest of my life. Always All Days.," Drizzy tweeted Friday (February 11). (Drake's Twitter)
He previously surprised fans at an "I Am Still Music" Lil Wayne tour stop and addressed the Young Money gossip.
Drake caught up with the "I Am Music II" tour when it pulled into Washington, D.C.'s Verizon Center on Sunday night. Lil Wayne introduced his Young Moneyprotégé with a heartfelt speech. The Canadian rapper addressed rumors that he had left Young Money. "You see today, when I landed in D.C. and I got off the plane, this ni**a looked me in my eyes and he asked me, 'Did you drop out of Young Money?' And I looked him right back in his eyes and I said, 'Boy, are you out your motherfu**in' mind?!' Man, I want this sh*t 'Forever,'" he told the crowd to roaring applause. (Rap-Up)
