Gudda Gudda Co-Signs Kidd Kidd's New Orleans Grind Tales, "He Wasn't Lying"

After recently speaking to Kidd Kidd about what it takes to make it in New Orleans, SOHH hit up Young Money's Gudda Gudda to get his opinion on the rapper's tales of grinding to success.
Agreeing with Kidd Kidd's points, Gudda explained the difference between grinding in New Orleans as opposed to big cities like New York and Los Angeles.
"Yeah, it is [a struggle] and a lot different," Gudda Gudda told SOHH about artists on the come-up in New Orleans. "First of all, New Orleans has to believe you. Whatever you're talking about, they have to believe you otherwise no one is going to accept you. You can't really just be rapping about a whole bunch of stuff and you ain't walking it. They gotta believe what you're saying or they will not support you. That's how it's been these past few years because I've been down there and I'm from there and I've seen other artists try but it doesn't pop. If they don't believe you, they're not buying into your music. Period." (SOHH)
He also agreed with Kidd Kidd's New Orleans newcomers tips of branching outside of the city to create a buzz.
"Speaking of Kidd Kidd, we were in a group together called Sqad Up back in the day, when we were doing our independent thing. When we put out our mixtapes, we would go out on the road a lot and that's how we got our name out there, by doing a gang of shows," Gudda added. "We would go around cities and put our name out there. Kidd Kidd wasn't lying either, you definitely have to get out of the city to get your music heard on a national basis. If you're a brand new artist, you have to get out there on the road and get on your grind. Get out there and let people hear your music." (SOHH)
Last month, Kidd Kidd hit up SOHH to speak on getting his music heard nationwide.
"There ain't nothing down here. You already know that if you want to make it out of New Orleans, you have to be out somewhere in New York. You gotta be in Atlanta. You gotta be in Los Angeles. Something like that in order to be discovered. That's how you're going to get people to hear you. Nine times out of ten, the people out there in the record labels are scared to come down here. It's wild down here. I was really blessed to even get out of the city for a minute and feed these people. We got a lot of talent out here but we're stuck down here. We're stuck. A lot of people don't have the opportunity to get it out of the city and show off their talent. So we're displaying our talent in the city but nobody is coming out and checking for us." Around mid-June, Kidd Kidd made headlines for surviving multiple gun shot wounds.
"wuzzam man thank yall for keepin me in yall prayers n*gga hit me six times but dey aint stoppin nutin b*tch a** n*gga get ur refund I aint dead," Kidd Kidd tweeted Sunday (June 12). (Kidd Kidd's Twitter)
