"From The New Limit To The Cash Money, Why Y'all Don't have Offices Down Here?"

Real n*gga sh*t. It's really no answer for "How can you make it as an artist in New Orleans" because I feel like I was blessed. I was lucky because I've been through so much beyond rap. I never would have thought in a million years that this would be me. To make it out of New Orleans, you have to get "out" of New Orleans because down here, there's nothing. Especially on the music tip.

There ain't nothing down here. You already know that if you want to make it out of New Orleans, you have to be out somewhere in New York. You gotta be in Atlanta. You gotta be in Los Angeles. Something like that in order to be discovered. That's how you're going to get people to hear you. Nine times out of ten, the people out there in the record labels are scared to come down here. It's wild down here.

I was really blessed to even get out of the city for a minute and feed these people. We got a lot of talent out here but we're stuck down here. We're stuck. A lot of people don't have the opportunity to get it out of the city and show off their talent. So we're displaying our talent in the city but nobody is coming out and checking for us.

That's what bothers us so much. You want to make it so bad but you can't show off your skills so then it's like, "What's your next option?" You may end up turning to the streets. It's messed up down here. From the New Limit to the Cash Money, why y'all don't have offices down here? In New Orleans? Everybody ran.

They ran.
And down here, you can ask anybody, they don't respect that. We got a lot of talent out here. For real for real. But in the meantime, my album Reallionaire is here. I'm going to be that dude to show New Orleans rocks. The "real" New Orleans. Not all that stuff you're seeing. Everybody that you're seeing on TV right now is not New Orleans. New Orleans does not rock like that. That is not the real New Orleans. They might scream "New Orleans!" or say "New Orleans 'til I die!" but that's not representing New Orleans.

I'm here to set the record straight and put New Orleans on the map the way it's supposed to. And whoever has something to say, come to New Orleans and ask about me. I ain't hard to find.

Kidd Kidd, also known as "Peanut" and "Nutt Da Kid", is a rapper from Downtown New Orleans. Since breaking up with Sqad Up, Kidd signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money Ent label, but later parted ways. Since putting out a handful of mixtapes, the rapper finally released his debut album, The Reallionaire this month through E1 Music.
