50 Cent Talks Business Woes, "There's Been A Lot Of Mistakes Made In My Career That Have Gone Unseen"

G-Unit's 50 Cent may be a platinum-selling rapper, however, he recently opened up about what business woes he experiences as a music executive and how his career could be bigger than what it already is.

According to Fif, one of his biggest weaknesses has been his friendliness, with 50 claiming that he gets too close to his artists.

"Personally, I have to be conscious not to overly invest myself in people because I'm personable and I start to develop relationships," Fif revealed in an interview with Rachael Ray. "Let's just say an easy job, a hard job to do, you forget you're working and when people have a comfortable work environment, they do things and you kind of let them go for a while and it kind of becomes uncomfortable and you have to get rid of them. ... [You have] to keep those boundaries [between work and pleasure.] When you're exercising that whistle-while-you-work concept 'cause you're enjoying yourself and you're doing what you're passionate about, it's tough for you to look at each individual's performance and actual space -- there's been a lot of mistakes made in my career that have gone unseen because the projects were successful projects. But people made a lot of mistakes behind the scenes that could have made it a little bigger and better." ("Rachael Ray Show")

Over the weekend, ex-Unit member Young Buck spoke about wanting to reestablish his relationship with 50 despite a publicized falling out in 2008.

"It's been a long time since I've had any kind of conversation with [Lloyd] Banks, [Tony] Yayo, 50 [Cent], anybody really through that camp over that way," Buck told DJ Whoo Kid in an interview. "It's been even a long time since I heard your voice to even have a conversation and we having it on air, live for the people. ... At the end of the day, we've made history and I would never not consider not being a chance for us to make history again if ever given the opportunity or chance. My thing is, at the end of the day, we only get older out here in this situation, in life, in itself and the older I became, the wiser I became at the same time." (Shade 45)

Last year, 50 detailed the amount of support he initially gave Young Buck and West Coast Game prior to their G-Unit departures.

"Let me explain something to you: If it was up to me there would be G-Unit South. Young Buck would be running that. I told him to run with that. When I did that, it was for him to present himself as a bigger artist to the Southern community. Game -- I wish nothing but the best for Game. As far as Black Wall Street is concerned, he did that prematurely. Then he turned around and told me to kiss his a**. If you can interpret that as me trying to keep them under my wing, that's just a f*cked-up interpretation." (VIBE)

In mid-2010, Game revealed he was open to reunion talks with the Unit.

"It's a new day and it's really time to get money you know what I'm saying -- So all I'm saying is why not get out here wing it like Voltron and sh*t," Game said in an interview. "Bring it back full circle and make some motherf*ckin' money...I wasn't opposed to it...He got an ego. I got an ego. Ain't nobody apologizing. Ain't nobody saying that they was wrong, but you ain't gotta do that to make amends. You just gotta get together, do the sh*t, and you can do it for the sake of money. We don't gotta break no peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in half and do the sh*t. Come to an agreement as men, get the sh*t done like men." (HHDX)
