A couple weeks after making the Internet drool with photos from her "Starships" music video set leaking, Young Money's Nicki Minaj has promised the visual will live up to its hype.
Providing details on the photo shoot experience, Nicki said her video could end up being one of the best to date.
"I'm freaking out because the video is taking way too long," Nicki said in an interview. "When it comes out it's going to be very, very saucy and very exciting, and it's going to be lots of fun and probably going to be my best one yet. ... I went out to Hawaii and I met a lot of beautiful Hawaiian men that were so amazing -- I just didn't want to leave. We shot the video on the beach, we shot the video in the mountains. It was just dope, the scenery was amazing." (Capital FM)
Around mid-March, photos of a bikini-laced Minaj on the beach began circulating online.
Nicki Minaj heated up Hawaii while shooting the electrifying video for "Starships," the RedOne-produced single from her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The hip-hop hottie hit the beaches of Oahu to film the summery visuals on Wednesday, giving the paparazzi an eyeful. The rap diva rolled in the sand in a hot pink bikini and neon green wig, showing off her voluptuous figure and world famous booty, and splashed in the waves as the sun glistened against her wet body. Earlier in the day, she performed near a waterfall with her hunky male co-stars, who wore pink in her honor. After wrapping the all-day shoot, Nicki celebrated with a cake featuring her single cover. The new photos came a day after a single shot of Minaj's "Starships" music video set landed online.
Nicki Minaj was parading her curvaceous figure when filming a music video for her latest single "Starships". The female rapper was snapped on the set wearing a pink bathing suit which has a sheer drape on the front. Rocking neon-green hair, she finished off her sexy look with a pair of matching heels. Minaj filmed the music video in Hawaii. The femcee recently posted on Twitter a picture of four shirtless male extras wearing pink tribal-inspired ensembles and bowler hats. "Beautiful. Can't wait 2get on set. Dem male modelz iz poppinton #starshipsvideo>," she excitedly tweeted. (Ace Showbiz)
Outside of photos and music video sets, Minaj recently opened up about not having her music categorized as one particular sound.
"You know what, I cannot break my album down into how the normal person like yourself would break an album down and say, well this is rap and this is pop," Nicki said in an interview. "There is no rap or pop for me. It's Nicki Minaj. It's one collective body of amazing work. You'll feel it. I don't like the labels because sometimes just by one word or one label, a person can take that the wrong way and apply a negative spin to that. So I don't give my music labels." (VIBE)
