Jay-Z & Kanye West Form Supergroup, Say Bow To The Throne

Grammy-winning rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West are putting a new twist to their Watch the Throne promo by formally announcing the creation of a new supergroup dubbed The Throne.

Although an official explanation on why Jay and Ye came together to form The Throne still awaits, the duo will kick off a nationwide tour this fall.
A week after debuting their new single, "Otis", off "Watch the Throne," Jay-Z and Kanye Westare joining forces to form the group 'The Throne' and announce their 'Watch the Throne Tour,' kicking off on Sept. 22, in Detroit. "Watch the Throne" will be available on iTunes on August 8. On the same day, tickets for The Throne's tour, powered by VoyR, will be made available at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com. Fans who purchase their tickets online will receive a digital copy of the album. The album hits stores on Aug. 12. (The Hollywood Reporter)
Tickets for the 24-date tour will go on sale later this week.
The Throne duo will hit the stage for the Watch the Throne tour starting in Detroit, Michigan at the Palace of Auburn Hills on September 22nd and the concert series is scheduled to conclude in Boston, Massachusets at the TD Garden on November 3rd. Tickets for the Watch the Throne tour will begin pre-selling on LiveNation.com/watchthethrone on July 28th. Fans who purchase a presale ticket will receive a digital copy of Jay-Z and Kanye's new album. (Huliq News)
Last week, a Watch the Throne mini-documentary landed online.
"Kanye, I've seen him, he's really like a brother to me," Jay says in the documentary. "I've seen him from the beginning to where he is now and to see him as a producer and how he's grown as a producer and an artist, for me, on another level, it's enjoyable. I'm watching the guy I pretty much mentored become his own guy with his own opinion, it's fantastic." ("Watch the Throne" Mini-Documentary)
Aside from Jay's co-signs, the doc shows Hov and Yeezy putting together their highly-anticipated LP.
The process of writing and recording Watch The Throne has been extremely meaningful for both Jay-Z and Kanye West, as Hova has watched West (whom he calls his "brother") turn from his protege into a hugely successful rapper in his own right. "I'm watching a guy I pretty much mentored become his own guy with his own opinions," says Jay in a 10-minute documentary following the duo recording the joint LP in Australia. "It's fantastic." Check out the boys (plus Beyonce) going "H*A*M" behind the scenes of their new album. (Idolator)
