UPDATE: Bobby Brown Gets More Bad News, Charged In DUI Case

Less than 48 hours after R&B veteran Bobby Brown made headlines for an arrest in Los Angeles, new reports claim he has officially been slapped with multiple misdemeanor charges.

Details of what Brown currently faces emerged online Wednesday (March 28).
Bobby Brown was charged Wednesday with three misdemeanor charges including drunken driving, two days after his afternoon arrest in suburban Los Angeles. Brown faces two DUI-related counts and another charge that he was driving on a suspended license, city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan said. One of the counts alleges the R&B singer had a blood alcohol level of more than 0.08 percent, which is the level at which someone is presumed to be driving under the influence. Brown's attorney, Tiffany Feder, said she could not comment on the case because she had not yet received the police report and other documents. Earlier in the day, she released a statement denying that the singer was driving unsafely when he was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol on Monday afternoon. (Billboard)
The singer, who recently lost ex-wife Whitney Houston, was hauled away by police Monday afternoon.
Just days after the autopsy results of Whitney Houston were released to the public, the late singer's ex-husband Bobby Brown was arrested on charges of driving under the influence. The arrest came on Monday, March 26 at 12:20 p.m., when Brown was spotted talking on his cell phone while driving down Victory Blvd in the San Fernando Valley. According to the arrest report obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Brown "displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and was asked to submit to a series of Field Sobriety test[s] that he was unable to perform as explained/demonstrated." Despite the headline-generating arrest, Brown posted bail shortly afterward.
As for Brown's alleged cell phone violation, it appears he's off the hook for a possible citation. But in general, drivers face a $20 fine for a first cell-phone violation and a $50 fine for subsequent violations. After Bobby Brown's DUI arrest, he posted an undisclosed amount of bail and remains free pending a court date. (Reuters)
He is known for his fighting through past drug abuse problems while married to Houston.
Brown and Houston's 14-year marriage was tarnished by drug abuse, Brown's run-ins with the law and allegations of domestic abuse. It became fodder for the tabloids and entertainment shows and for a year was on display in the reality show "Being Bobby Brown." The superstar singers met at the 1989 Soul Train Music Awards and married three years later. Houston divorced Brown in 2007, winning custody of their daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
