A $137,000 private jet lawsuit against Jay-Z has been brought in for an unexpected landing -- TMZ has learned, the case has been dismissed. TMZ broke the story ... Jigga was sued in 2010 for flaking on a six-figure bill after racking up 55 hours of flying time on a private jet -- and only paying for 37. But good news for Hova, the private jet company has dismissed the case. It's unclear exactly why -- but you can bet a private settlement was reached. Calls to both Jay-Z's camp and the private jet company were not returned. (TMZ)The rap mogul's pricey case made headlines in June 2010.
It costs Jay-Z roughly $250k to spend 55 hours on a private jet -- and that's with a celebrity discount -- but according to a new lawsuit, the rapper never paid the entire cost to fly like a boss. Jay-Z -- aka Shawn Carter -- is being sued by Air Platinum Holding, a private jet company which claims Jigga spent 55 hours on their planes back in 2009 ... but only paid for 37 hours of service. (TMZ)Following the inital report, a breakdown of what was owed had also been revealed.
It's believed that an hour of flight time costs $4,500, meaning his total outstanding flight bill is around $81,000. He also owes $8,500 for 17 hours of domestic catering, $3,000 for catering on four international flights and $8,500 in international fees. The 'Big Pimping' rapper has also failed to settle $12,285 of taxes and the $24200 cost of a luxury trip to England, bringing the total debt to $137,485. (Peace FM Online)Outside of legal matters, Jay recently welcomed the birth of his newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter and celebrated the re-opening of his 40/40 sportsbar in New York City.
From changing diapers to glamorous club openings, all in a days work for new dad Jay-Z. The rapper made his first post-Blue Ivy appearance at the grand re-opening of his 40/40 club in New York City last night. Beyonce didn't make it out (so we're going to have to wait to see her undoubtedly amazing post-baby body!) and presumably stayed home with baby Blue. (Splash News Online)
