Shawn "Pecas" Costner Speaks On 2 Chainz Signing To Def Jam Prior To The Rapper Confirming His Deal

Def Jam's Shawn "Pecas" Costner says Sha Money played a vital role in 2 Chainz being signed to Def Jam.

Although news of 2 Chainz signing to Def Jam was confirmed earlier today, those including Def Jam Senior VP Shawn “Pecas” Costner were quite aware of the deal well before it was made public. Costner initially revealed the news during a video interview with AlLindstrom.com which was taped well before 2 Chainz’ interview with XXL Magazine. That portion of Costner’s interview was finally posted today.
"Yes, 2 Chainz will be signed to Def Jam,” said Pecas while smiling.

Pecas also revealed that Michael “Sha Money” Clervoix played a role in “reinvigorating” Def Jam’s interest in 2 Chainz who was signed to the label through his deal with Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP).

“Shout out to Sha Money too by the way for reinvigorating 2 Chainz within our company,” Pecas explained. “Cause you already know we had him as a group artist when he was Tity Boi signed to one of our subsidiaries DTP. So shout out to Luda and them as well.”
